Start Date: January 5, 2014 End Date: October 2, 2016
The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.
The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).
Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple goals such as New Year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Goal I am…
anticipating to be the most difficult: anything that requires traveling just because it's difficult to get leave with my job and usually there is some type of investment with traveling aka $$$
most nervous about: I think anything that requires me to step out of my comfort zone or reestablish a connection again.
unsure if I can achieve: I don't know why but seeing Ellen DeGeneres' show came first to mind. I think it's because it would require me to fly out to California and we still haven't visited home yet, but here's hoping!
really anticipating: Simply experiencing so much joy! I am really looking forward to every element on this list and how many memories my little family will be making :)
How about adding "serve as a Theta volunteer". You could do this remotely, but you have so much to give - add it to the list!
ReplyDeleteYou go girl!!!
Thanks! I'm super excited about this and that's #48 (they're all scrambled).
DeleteGreat list! I've done a couple half marathons before - if you need/want a training plan for one, I can give you a link to one that my boyfriend made for me (takes you from not running at all to running a half in 3-4 months). My only objection on your list is #23 - based on all of your cute pics on FB!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I would love that link. I'm not a fan of running but I have always wanted to run a marathon and a half. I think it would be such an amazing experience to fulfill that goal. Thanks for the kind words about #23! It's my hips/butt/thighs that are causing me havoc lol
DeleteI've taught myself how to play the guitar, so I can definitely show you some tricks/techniques/awesome web tutorials on that! And if you ever want a workout buddy...well, I'm a gym rat so there ya go. :-)
ReplyDeleteI totally want to learn (well that and ukele). Ultimately my goal is to write a song for fun :)
DeleteOkay this epic! I must get to work on my 101 in 1001 list! This is really inspiring! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI'm fulfilling a promise I made to you at the beginning of January in checking how this is coming along. :-)
ReplyDeleteI've actually completed a few things! With the current situation, I felt really discouraged from doing anything but I have completed things and it's been inspiring.
DeleteThis is awesome! I've been thinking about starting a blog before we leave for Italy. I might have to do a 101 in 1001. :-)

ReplyDeleteThank you for introducing me to the Operation Beautiful site and a great addition to my list! I am obviously years behind in knowing about and creating one of these lists. Hopefully you have accomplished a great number of items on yours as it comes to an end!
