Influenster Spring Fever VoxBox

I am really excited to share with you what I received from my very first Influenster Spring Fever VoxBox.  By this point in time, I'm sure that you've seen several shared boxes through blogs, Twitter, and Instagram.  It's a lot of fun to receive snail mail, especially when it comes to products so hopefully my review isn't the same old same old.

The first product up for review is the Secret Outlast Completely Clean deodorant.  I'm someone who uses Dove and I've been trying to go for something more organic. Secret isn't that, however, the product does exactly what it says- dries completely clear.  I put it on before a Memorial Day BBQ where I was wearing a sleeveless dress.  Maybe I'm just used to drier products but the experience was wet.  For a bit there, your armpits will feel moist.  Yes, I used the word moist.  Not like water has been splashed on you but how cold aloe vera feels when applied to the skin.  It took me by surprise (I haven't used gel deodorants in the past) but it was quick to dry after that point and like I said, dries clear.

Next in the kit was a set of imPress Press-On manicure nails from the Nicole Scherzinger collection.  Nicole Scherzinger was the main vocalist from The Pussycat Dolls.  She's stunning and was excited to see that she had a nail line.  Also included in the box was a NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm.

It came in a smaller sized tube with a plastic cover and adjustable body. The top featured a small apple imprint to include two different colors for blending.

Here you can see that it's really pigmented, almost like a burst of warm red- perfect for summer.

I lightened this picture up so you could differentiate the color from my skin color, but I was kind of disappointed.  This wasn't my favorite glossy lip balm.  Although my skin color looks rather light here, I have a more olive to tan tone and the lip color barely showed up.  In terms of texture it felt really oily on my lips.  Some balms have that oily feeling to help moisture but I wasn't impressed by this product and probably wouldn't buy it on my own.  My personal favorite of pigmented, moisturizing glosses are Baby Lips.

When I saw the imPress nails I thought, "boy howdy."  No way are these nails in Air Force regulations so I had to test them out when I had a few days off.  Admittedly these definitely are not a style of nail that I would have chosen.  I've used press on nails in the past to save nail salon costs.  I would visit Walgreens on our campus before socials and other formal events to save money.  What I like about press on nails is that they're cost effective, easy to apply, and because of the inexpensive cost, I don't feel bad taking them off a few days later. The same applies for this product.  Unlike other store bought nails, the glue is already applied to each nail.  Simply remove the sticker and press firmly to the nail.  That's it! It was a little difficult to pull off the sticker on the nails and I ended up bending one of the provided nails because of it.

Despite my reservations of the zebra and hibiscus floral- it was a fun and sassy selection.  It was neat to try out because I wouldn't have picked it out on my own.  These nails lasted for three days and that's including wear and tear from daily chores.  I put them on Friday and while I was sorting through laundry on Sunday, both of the middle finger ones fell off.  I would definitely recommend this brand for weekend events or something that you need for photos or anything temporary.

A TastyKake Kandy Bare Kake in the flavor "S'mores" was also provided.
Doesn't that look scrumptious?

Upon taste-testing, I realized that it tasted just like Little Debbie cakes.  Same type of texture and taste.  I normally don't buy these types of cakes just because we try to find healthier alternatives, however, if you're looking to satisfy you're sweet tooth these very much reminded me of elementary school lunches.

Last in the package was the Schwarzkopf Professional Osis+ Dust It.  It's a mattifying powder and a type of product that I've never tried before.  I love hair products and having shorter hair, I definitely use them to have greater control of my shorter locks.  I normally use AVEDA or Bed Head products so I wasn't sure how I would like this.  It's a great product!  The instructions basically said to sprinkle it on hair, rub in and voila.  As I sprinkled it, I realized it was a white powder which raised some red flags on my dark brunette hair but it blended in perfectly.  What amazed me was that a dry powder could automatically create a thicker texture and volume.  As soon as it hit my hair, I could feel my hair's texture had changed and as I rubbed it in, the volume increased incredibly! It was like VA-VA-VOOM.  It was difficult to get any type of comb or brush through the areas that the powder was applied on but the volume was pretty impressive.

It's more of an expensive hair product but it's definitely worth the cost if you're looking to create more texture and incredible lift with volume.

Have you tried these products? What did you think?  If you didn't like them, do you have any other products to recommend?
